Do not be afraid. Stand your ground!

Hey friends

Most of you might have received this message already via WhatsApp as my new year’s gift to you but I am aware that I haven’t got everyone’s contact on WhatsApp and so what a better way to reach you than to share it on my blog.

As we start the new year, 2022. I would like to remind you of the powerful God we serve. Him who has kept us this past year and has brought us this far. I attended an evening session where an elder shared some encouraging words which I will also share with you. I hope you’ll feel encouraged.

In Exodus 14, we find an interesting story of the Israelites. They were before the red sea, besides them were mountains & valleys and behind them was Pharaoh and his mighty army. Terrified, they cried out to the Lord. They said to Moses, “Is it because there are no graves in Egypt that you have taken us away to die in the wilderness? What have you done to us in bringing us out of Egypt?” When we read of the Israelites’ deliverance, we see how God delivered them with a mighty hand, with all the miracles performed. But in this situation, they were cornered and they seemed to have forgotten that when they were powerless and slaves in Egypt, it’s God who rescued them. Their response alone shows how mentally chained they
were to the Egyptians even after being physically freed.

Moses reminded them, “Fear not, stand firm, and see the salvation of the Lord, which he will work for you today. For the Egyptians whom you see today, you shall never see again.” They only needed to trust God, the same God who had rescued them was able to create a way for them. It is hard to believe but “with God all things are possible.” Matthew 19:26. These guys actually walked on dry ground!

You may be going through a challenging time as the new year begins, or you may encounter difficulties through this new year but I would like you to look at how the previous year has been. Sit down and reflect on how good God has been. How He has rescued you from the small and big hurdles of life. This could be a spiritual, physical, mental or even emotional
rescue. Now do not allow yourself to give up because, the same God who saw you through those times will see you through still. With your new found freedom, let fear have no place. I know it’s easier said than done but sis/bro stand your ground.

Happy New Year 2022
Blessings in abundance 😊❤
